September 9th- Fairview economic development forum.
Discussion: community grocery store close to Manhattan Ave, consumer/user owned grocery coop; other options to also be discussed
YOUR FAIRVIEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IDEAS ARE WELCOME AT COMMUNITY FORUM SEPT 9, 6 PM
Greenburgh Town Hall
Discussion: community grocery store close to Manhattan Ave…consumer/user owned grocery coop; a Fairview
Resident owned and managed business that is a full service grocery; a non profit space –incubator for local products Or hybrid of any of the above.
A new Fairview Empowerment Group is forming and looking for your participation and ideas. There are
currently five economic development initiatives on the table awaiting your review and feedback, which involve opening or creating: a traditional grocery store close to Manhattan Ave. corridor; a consumer/user-owned grocery coop; a Fairview resident owned and managed business that is a full-service grocery; a not-for-profit space whose mission is to be an incubator for local products, services and other locally owned businesses that is governed and managed by the community; or a hybrid of any of the above.
The most important aspect of this space is empowerment for the community that is facilitated by the
community, and potentially owned by the community. Please join us at Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave, on
Thursday September 9th from 6-8pm for a community conversation on what this economic empowerment
entity can be with your help.
Paul Feiner
Greenburgh Town Supervisor
