Dear Friend,
It is no secret on the Fourth of July -- we indulge in some of the joys synonymous with American pleasures: hotdogs, burgers, barbecue, the day off for a lot of us, and fireworks.
But it's just as important, if not more so, that we remember how fortunate we are that people, generations ago, and now are willing to take up arms and fight for our freedom.
Let's use this day to remember the freedoms we enjoy, the opportunities afforded to us, and the premise that we all can chase our dreams and reach for the stars.
I hope you'll join us at the Yonkers waterfront this evening to celebrate America. The music on the pier begins at 7PM, and the fireworks start at 9PM. I wish you and your family a happy and safe Independence Day.
Enjoy the day, be well, and stay safe.
MIKE SPANO
Mayor
