LEG. ALVARADO INVITES MOMS TO DE-STRESS AT MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND EVENT THIS SATURDAY.
Mom Zen Den at Lincoln Memorial Park Will Offer Food, Fun, and Health Care Screenings.
White Plains, NY — Legislator Jose Alvarado is inviting all moms and their families to celebrate Mother's Day and give moms a chance to de-stress on Saturday, May 8, at the Mom Zen Den event at Lincoln Memorial Park beginning at 1 p.m. which the legislator is co-sponsoring with St. Joseph’s Medical Center, the Yonkers YWCA, and the South Broadway Business Improvement District.
There will be music, food, arts and crafts for the children, and a photo booth where you can take a picture with firefighter. Volunteers will also be distributing PPE. There will be blood pressure screenings and other health care information in conjunction with St. Joseph's Medical Center, as well as information about COVID-19 vaccinations. And the girls from the Yonkers YWCA's P.E.A.R.L. program will be podcasting from the event.
Leg. Alvarado (D- Yonkers), said, "It's always a good time to celebrate moms, but especially now. The stress and pressure of the pandemic has fallen disproportionately on mothers as they have found themselves having to manage not just the normal daily pressures, but also the challenges of remote learning. I'm so happy to be able to welcome moms and families to an event where they can have a little fun and get help with health care and other challenges this Mother's Day."
Lincoln Memorial Park is at the intersection of South Broadway and McLean Avenue.
