BOARD SETS THREE PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR MAY 24.
White Plains, NY — The Board of Legislators will hold three public hearings on Monday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m.
The public hearings will be conducted remotely, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1 and 202.15, as extended. Instructions for how to participate are below.
· Sewer District Mod-Add-Cortlandt: The first hearing is on the addition of a parcel in the town of Cortlandt to the Peekskill Sanitary Sewer district.
The legislation and legislative history can be found here:
· Amendments to the Co-op Disclosure Law: The second hearing is on amendments to the County's co-op disclosure law. The amendments would require that co-op boards provide a reason for the denial of an application when the co-op board notifies the County's Human Rights Commission of a denial. The measure would also require disclosure of minimum financial requirements to applicants before they apply.
The legislation and legislative history can be found here:
· Earned Sick Leave for Domestic Workers: The third hearing is on a measure to continue Westchester County's provisions related to domestic workers in the County's Earned Sick Leave Law, passed in 2018, which provides that domestic workers, regardless of the number of domestic workers employed by their employer, are entitled to up to forty hours of paid sick time per year.
