could create traffic inconveniences for about six weeks
In an effort to enhance pedestrian safety, the Town of Greenburgh has been diligent in constructing new sidewalk in recent years. Currently, the Town is pleased to announce that construction will begin Monday on a new sidewalk on the north side of Ardsley Road from Fort Hill Road towards the entrance to Greenville Elementary School. Construction will take approximately six weeks to complete. During this time, please be aware that the westbound lane of Ardsley Road will be closed to traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. This is to uphold vehicular and construction safety.
While construction is underway, the Town is looking to begin design of additional sidewalk on Fort Hill Road in a northerly direction in order to enhance the current sidewalk project and provide more pedestrian access to Ardsley Road. This will hopefully provide much needed access to Greenville School. In addition, if the Town board approves, the design of traffic remediation as per our consultant’s recommendation, would result in the safe installation of crosswalks at the intersection of Ardsley Road and Fort Hill Road.
