Yonkers Insider Piece: Westchester County Legislator 17th District: Elections 2021: Will Virginia run?
This will be a very interesting race and could be the most intriguing of Election 2021, Especially if Former Westchester County Legislator Virginia Perez enters the race. Many Insiders tell Yonkers Insider that Virginia is the 500 Pound Gorilla in the room, in terms of this Race for Westchester County Legislator in the 17th District. Will Virginia Run? Will She return to the Political Arena?
Only time will tell. Petitioning Starts on March 2nd to Collect Signatures to get on the Ballot and Petitions have to be filed in Westchester County Board of Elections, between March 22nd and March 25th.
Many Insiders I talk to, believe that Virginia could return and this is not just a rumor, you know the Old saying, where there is Smoke there is Fire!

County Legislator Jose Alvarado is a seeking a 2nd Term as Westchester County Legislator in the 17th District, He had gotten Elected in 2019 to returning to the Westchester County Board of Legislators, He previously served on the County Board from 2001 till 2011, When he was defeated by Virginia Perez in 2011.
London Reyes is running for the seat for a 3rd time, He ran against Virginia in 2017 and came up short and He ran against Jose Alvarado and Lucy Casanova-Moreno in 2019 Race and he came up short. London is active in Community and is head of a Non Profit called AAA All Stars. London fancies himself as the "Bernie Sanders of Yonkers".
Last but certainly Not Least Former Westchester County Legislator Virginia Perez, who represented the 17th County Legislative District for many years, if She does decide to come back, She will add some serious Spice to this race in my view.
With Virginia Perez there is no Middle Ground, You either Love Virginia or You Don't. There is Very Strong Opinions on both sides, when it comes to her.
She has great energy and She was great to her Constituents, who She called her Extended Family. Many of those Constituents have reached out to me and said "We want Virginia Back".
We shall see what happens. This would be fun in my View, if Virginia returns to run for this Seat, A seat that She held for many years, One thing is crystal clear, I would never Bet against This Lady Virginia Perez, She is a true fighter, who has Passion and a Love for Her Extended Family, Her constituents.
Also The Political Establishment Challenged Virginia in every race, Every two years and in the Majority of Those Races with the Exception of one race, She came out Victorious.
The Political Establishment didn't like Virginia, Because She would not Bow down to the Political Establishments Wishes or Desires.
She truly was Independent on her time on the Westchester County Board of Legislators, No one ever owned Virginia Perez, Virginia's only bosses were Her Extended Family, Her Constituents, when She was Westchester County Legislator in the 17th District.
Virginia Perez owns a Business called Pet Luxury.
