On Tuesday, January 26, 2021 the Yonkers City Council held a Committee of the Whole meeting to hear a presentation on the Special Ordinance listed as item #6 on tonight's City Council agenda in regard to a bond sale executed this afternoon.
Immediately following the Committee of the Whole, a Public Hearing was held in regard to a General Ordinance concerning the use and regulations for solar energy collectors. Two speakers signed up to speak in support of said General Ordinance.
The City Council Stated Meeting followed the Public Hearing. Below are the items on tonight's City Council agenda and a summary of how each item was discussed and/or voted.

1. Local Law - Authorizing the discontinuance and conveyance of a portion of Bronxville Road to Kevin and Joan Donohue (Held over - awaiting feedback from the Planning Department)
2. Resolution - To issue a determination of significance pursuant to SEQRA relating to the proposed conveyance of a portion of discontinued right-of-way of Bronxville Road. (Held over - awaiting feedback from the Planning Department)

3. Local Law - Amending Part V, Chapter 47 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Outdoor Signs" in relation to billboards (Voted 7-0)
4. General Ordinance - Amending Article V of Chapter 20 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Transient Businesses" (Voted 7-0)
5. General Ordinance - Amending Chapter 93 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Littering" (Voted 7-0)
6. Special Ordinance - Bond Ordinance determining the terms, form and details of issuance of $28,170,000 General Obligation Serial Bonds-2021A, $33,525,000 School Serial Bonds - 2021B and $6,100,000 General Obligation Bonds - 2021C (Voted 7-0)
7. Resolution - Approving a Special Use Permit for the operation of a proposed grade drainage system at section 5, Block 5000, Lot 1 at the property known as 590 Palmer Road (Voted 7-0)
8. Resolution - Condemning attempts to interfere in the presidential election and the events that transpired at the US Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 (Voted 5-2, with Minority Leader Mike Breen and Councilman Anthony Merante voting no)
9. Resolution - Calling on apartment building owners to daily sanitation of buildings in all common areas in multiple dwellings and retail establishments during the COVID-19 pandemic. (Voted 7-0)
10. Resolution - Urging Mayor Mike Spano to direct the appropriate departments to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic on certain public roads in the City of Yonkers in support of the emergency order concerning the suspension of the City's Zoning and Buildings Codes related to outdoor sidewalk dining for restaurants (Voted 7-0)
11. Resolution - Waiving the City of Yonkers' fee for issuance of a death certificate for COVID-19 related deaths (Voted 7-0)
12. Resolution - Commissioner of Deeds (Voted 7-0)
Tonight's meeting closed with an acknowledgement of the 2021 Holocaust Remembrance Day. Hopefully next year we are able to salute Holocaust survivors in person in our Council Chambers.
