Yonkers Insider: Election 2021 Desk: Community Activist London Reyes to Challenge Westchester County Legislator Jose Alvarado in the 17th District for Democratic Party Nomination.

 

Sources tell Yonkers Insider that Community Activist London Reyes will challenge Westchester County Legislator Jose Alvarado in the 17th District for the Democratic Party Nomination. 

This will set up a Rematch from 2 Years ago, When Reyes took on Alvarado in the race, Lucy Casanova was also a Democrat in this race as well. It was a race where Jose Alvarado, became Westchester County Legislator once again. Two Years ago, The seat was open, when Westchester County Legislator Virginia Perez decided not to seek Re-Election two Years ago, to further concentrate on her Business Pet Luxury.

This will be Reyes third time, running for Westchester County Legislator in the 17th District, He has run in 2017, 2019 where he fell short in those races for this seat and now in 2021 he continues his quest to serve the Citizens of Yonkers on the Westchester County Board of Legislators in the 17th District.

Yonkers Democratic City Committee will hold it's Nominating Convention on Wednesday on a Virtual Convention where they will select their 2021 Slate of Candidates for Yonkers City Council President, Yonkers City Council 2nd, 4th and 6th Districts and Westchester County Legislator 16th and 17th Districts.
