Under current New York rules, some sports, such as soccer and field hockey, are permitted under Covid-19 regulations while football, competitive cheer, and volleyball are prohibited. Meanwhile, colleges and youth leagues in the state are allowed to play all sports, demonstrating jarring inconsistencies in State rules. All sports are allowed in neighboring states with higher Covid rates, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the group noted, and Michigan, Colorado, and Delaware reversed their decisions and will now allow all fall sports.
