Friends,
This week, I had the privilege of attending various great events, celebrating culture, community outreach and small businesses throughout our great city of Yonkers. The Yonkers Riverfest was once again a huge success. Thank you to everyone involved for your hard work year-round.
Around Yonkers and throughout the entire County, State and Nation, climate control has become a major issue. Earlier this year, we passed one of the most comprehensive pieces of legislation to help combat global warming. I am proud to have co-sponsored Bill A. 8429, known as the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. This bill sets critical environmental standards, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the use of renewable energy in order to address and mitigate the effects of climate change. I urge you all to take action against climate change. There are so many ways we can help the the environment and ensure the generations to come will enjoy planet Earth!
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the McLean Avenue Fall Festival! Be sure to stop by my table with any questions/concerns or just to say hello!
Have a great weekend.
