August 2, 2019
Dear Friends,
Can you believe summer is almost over? No need to fear we have many upcoming family friendly events for you and your loved ones to take part in. This week in Yonkers the African American Advisory Board will be holding their 2nd Annual Family and Friends Day August 4, Flag Raising and Taste of Jamaica will be presented on August 6 and the National Night Out will be held on August 6. Along with many causes that would be beneficial to the neighborhood such as an ASL and IBC Ice Bucket challenge presented at the Empire City Casino on August 3rd and Mayor Mike Spano's "Backpack to School" Drive to provide backpacks and other school supplies to Yonkers Public School students most in need throughout the City, this event will be running from now until August 22nd.
Be on the lookout for 'back to school' specials around Yonkers starting at the beginning of August. Local vendors want to give you the best deals for your Yonkers student(s), and buying locally helps to strengthen our Yonkers schools.
Best Wishes,
Majority Leader Michael Sabatino
