At the 138th Annual Meeting of the Yonkers Board of Education on May 14, 2019, the Trustees re-elected Rev. Steve Lopez and Ms. Judith Ramos Meier to serve as president and vice-president respectively. Both will serve one-year terms in their leadership posts. Mayor Mike Spano re-appointed Rev. Lopez and Ms. Ramos Meir to their second five-year terms as Trustees in May 2018. Learn more

For 65 years, the Kiwanis Club of Yonkers, in cooperation with the Yonkers Board of Education, has given recognition to public school teachers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, made significant contributions to the school community and engaged in activities that have led to student growth and development. Yonkers Public Schools and the Career & Technical Education Advisory Council celebrated students, teachers, and business partners at its annual breakfast this week. In an emotional moment, the Lincoln High School choir opened the ceremony with a stirring medley of the Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem.
