I had the privilege of standing alongside Mayor Mike Spano, State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Yonkers City Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy, Yonkers City Council Majority Leader John Rubbo, Yonkers City Council Majority Whip Deana Robinson, Councilwoman Tasha Diaz, fellow Community Leaders, and our courageous veterans at the Yonkers Veterans Day Ceremony. It was truly inspiring to honor the brave men and women who have selflessly served our nation.
Additionally, it was a pleasure to serve as the Guest of Honor at the 24th annual recital of the Rhythm of India dance school. The event was a stunning showcase of India's rich cultural heritage, with performances of six vibrant dance forms. From children as young as five to adults aged fifty, every artist brought their passion and talent to the stage, reminding us of the beauty and unity found in diversity.
I again call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger, starvation, and displacement affecting the entire population of Gaza, and now Northern Israel, Lebanon, and the West Bank. From the start of this conflict, nearly 50,000 have died, over 150,000 are injured, and over 2 million displaced from their homes. This must stop immediately! |
