With the fifth largest veteran population in the nation, New York is home to 838,000 veterans, many of them over the age of 65. On Monday, we will pay tribute to our veterans for their service and the sacrifices they have made. Veterans Day is not only a sacred annual observance, but a rewarding opportunity to express our thanks to these brave individuals in our communities. I hope you will join me in pausing to honor our veterans at one of these local commemorations.
