This week I had the honor of hosting my 10th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month reception at City Hall with my colleagues on the Yonkers City Council. It was a beautiful event. We honored Maria Alfaro, of One Paso, for her work in mental health advocacy. We had 2 musical performances: Grupo Folclorio y Cultural de Dominicanos de Yonkers and Niños Guadalupanos de Santa Maria. And of course we had some delicious food!
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to attend the event. A special thank you goes to the restaurants listed below for their generous food donations. As a self-proclaimed foodie, it was great to get a taste of the many different Latino cuisines we have throughout our city.
