Edward R. Mevec has been an attorney for 34 years. Currently, he serves as an Administrative Law Judge for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision formerly the New York State Division of Parole.
Mr. Mevec is designated to conduct and preside over parole revocation hearings through out New York State for the last 18 years. Mr. Mevec served as a Commissioner for the New York State Board of Parole from 2002 to 2006. Previously, Mr. Mevec was a trial attorney for the Kemper National and Allstate Insurance companies from 1992 to 2002. He started adjudicating matters as a small claim’s arbitrator and hearing officer for small claims tax assessment matters since 1996.
Mr. Mevec graduated summa cum laude from St. Thomas Aquinas College and received his J.D. degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Law.
In addition to other professional and community activities, Mr. Mevec is a member of a number of bar associations including the New York State Administrative Law Judge Association serving as the past president, Secretary and chairman of the CLE Committee, a member of the Subcommittee on the Administrative Law Judiciary of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Attorneys in Public Service, the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, Westchester County Bar Association where he is was a member of Board of Directors, Chairman Grievance Committee, and a member of the Ethics Committee.
