Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Meeting - September 4, 2024 by Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 


On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Yonkers City Council held its first Rules Committee meeting of the 2024-2025 legislative session. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Items for Consideration by Administration


1. Settlement by Law Department - $30,000.00 – TRAVELERS INDEMNITY COMPANY OF CONNECTICUT v. City of Yonkers – for personal injury protection (PIP) benefits paid on behalf of Nelly Bautista arising from a motor vehicle accident that happened on March 25, 2010 at the interchange of the Cross County Parkway and Saw Mill River Parkway. (Fiscal Impact – amount of settlement.) (Moved to Budget Committee for further discussion and will be placed on the agenda for the Stated City Council meeting of September 10, 2024)

3. Settlement by Law Department - $315,000.00 – ERCILIA PEREZ v. City of Yonkers and Daniel Farrell – claimant sustained personal injuries, medical expenses and other expenses arising out of an alleged incident that plaintiff was injured by a City of Yonkers motor vehicle in the vicinity of Yonkers Avenue and Walnut Street. (Fiscal Impact – amount of settlement.) 4. Special Ordinance – authorizing acceptance of State Grant Funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Forestry Service in the amount of $1,000,000 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. 11. Resolution expressing the Yonkers City Council’s wish that the Yonkers Planning Board serve as lead agency for the purposes of SEQRA review and its referral to the City and County Planning Boards and all other appropriate agencies a proposed amendment of Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers known as the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the City of Yonkers to add a new “Planned Film & Educational Development Use” to the MG district (Moved to Stated City Council meeting agenda of September 10, 2024 and Clerk's office to refer this item to the City and County Planning Boards)

 

12.
