MAYOR SPANO & YONKERS PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO LAUNCH PLEDGE 182 CAMPAIGN ADDRESSING STUDENT ATTENDANCE.

 

Mayor Spano to Ask Yonkers Early Childhood Academy Students to Pledge to Attend the 182-Day School Year.

 

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, Superintendent of Schools Aníbal Soler, Jr., Yonkers Early Childhood Academy Principal Stefanie Felidi, students in grades 1-2, teachers and staff will take part in a school assembly on Friday, September 20 at 10:00 AM at Yonkers Early Childhood Academy (Auditorium, 160 Bolmer Avenue) to address student attendance rates.

 

The Mayor will announce the Pledge 182 campaign, asking Yonkers students to commit to attending school every day and on time. Research shows that students who miss 10% of the school year (18 days or 2 days per month) are not as academically successful through their school years and have a more difficult time graduating.
