FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Coming Discrimination Against New York Girls and Women to Be Highlighted Across State on National Women’s Equality Day.
ALARMED NEW YORKERS FROM ACROSS THE STATE WILL HOLD FIVE NEWS CONFERENCES ON NATIONAL WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY — MONDAY, AUGUST 26 — TO EDUCATE NEW YORKERS ABOUT A PENDING THREAT TO GIRLS AND WOMENS SPORTS IN NEW YORK.
PARTICIPANTS WILL HIGHLIGHT A PROVISION IN PROP ONE, THE SO-CALLED “EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT”, THAT COULD LAY CONSTITUTIONAL GROUNDWORK FOR BIOLOGICAL MALES TO BE GRANTED A (STATE) CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO COMPETE ON GIRLS AND WOMENS SPORTS TEAMS. SIXTY-SIX PERCENT (66 %) OF NEW YORKERS RECENTLY SURVEYED SAID GIRLS SPORTS SHOULD ONLY BE FOR GIRLS. PROP ONE WILL BE ON THE NEW YORK BALLOT IN NOVEMBER.
THE NEWS CONFERENCES ARE BEING ORGANIZED BY THE NONPARTISAN BALLOT ISSUE COMMITTEE, THE COALITION TO PROTECT KIDS-NY, WHICH INCLUDES MEMBERS OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITIES. PARTICIPANTS WILL ALSO WARN NEW YORKERS THAT PROP ONE — REFERRED TO BY OPPONENTS AS “THE PARENT REPLACEMENT ACT” — WOULD LEGALLY BAR PARENTS FROM BEING INFORMED IF A CHILD IS UNDERGOING CONTROVERSIAL “GENDER TRANSITIONING” MEDICAL TREATMENTS, WHICH EUROPEAN COUNTRIES ARE NOW OUTLAWING.
THOSE SPEAKING ON MONDAY ARE FIGHTING FOR THE EQUALITY OF WOMEN, WHO HAVE WORKED FOR DECADES TO GAIN THEIR OWN SPACES AND POWER, ONLY TO SEE THIS PUSH IN NEW YORK TO ALLOW MEN TO DOMINATE WOMEN AGAIN. THEY’RE RALLYING CALL MONDAY WILL BE: “DO NOT ERASE WOMEN!”
