As we all get ready for our long Labor Day holiday weekend, some of our neighbors will will face challenges in the coming days. Due to a gas leak at Palisade Towers (1-8 Schroeder Street), Con Ed had to cut off service to almost 400 families, which means they have no hot water and no cooking gas. Con Ed is working to resolve the issue, but it may take a few days. As a result, the City of Yonkers has put out a Call to Action to all Yonkers residents. If you're able to help in any way, please stop by 5 Schroeder Street to drop off food donations, or gift cards to eateries and restaurants, or call Council President Collins-Bellamy's office at (914) 377-6060. Her office is coordinating emergency assistance, along with MHACY and Mayor Spano. Best regards, Hon.
