Dear Neighbors,
It was another hot one this week! I spent time with our Yonkers Firefighters and Yonkers Police Department at Doyle Park, having some fun with the kids. The fire department used the "turtle," a specialized piece of equipment typically used to put out lithium-ion battery car fires, and turned it into a sprinkler! It was hooked up to a hose and kids had a blast running through the water.
July is National Parks Month and on Saturday, July 20 -- from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. we will be celebrating Yonkers Parks Day! Pop over to Unity Park, Bregano Park, or Lennon Park for a day filled with lawn games, arts & crafts, entertainment, food, and fun!
Here's to making more summer memories this weekend!
Stay safe, Yonkers!
