On Wednesday June 26, 2024, the Yonkers City Council held a Stated City Council meeting.

June 26, 2024

1. General Ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on battery energy storage systems within the City of Yonkers pending appropriate review (Held Over)

 

2.General Ordinance amending Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers entitled "Zoning" in regards to the clear cutting and excavation of land prior to required site plan approval (Adopted 6-0)

 

3.General Ordinance instituting an eight-month moratorium on self-storage facilities within the City of Yonkers in order to conduct a thorough review of how to better serve the city's economic growth. (Held Over)


4.Special Ordinance - budget transfer for Law Department (Adopted 6-0)

23C. Resolution by the City Council of the City of Yonkers, pursuant to Articles VII and IX of the City's Zoning Ordinance, to approve a special use permit application to demolish the interior of an existing convenience store and repair garage located at block 3182, lot 2, on the property known as 1250 AKA 1176 Nepperhan Avenue, zoned "I" district, and construct a larger convenience store within the existing building footprint. (Adopted 6-0)


23D. Resolution requesting that the City of Yonkers Planning Board serve as lead agency with respect to a proposed amendment to Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, known as the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map, to reclassify and rezone the property located at 60 Alexander Street (also designated on the city's tax map as block 2608, lot 14.18) from its current "I" district to "D-MX district" and for corresponding amendments to the zoning ordinance (and all related actions), and further that the proposed amendment be referred to: a) the Yonkers Planning Board for its report and recommendation in accordance with section 143-64(a) of the zoning ordinance; and b) the Westchester County Planning Board in accordance with Section 239-M of General Municipal Law. (Adopted 6-0)
