I am deeply grateful and humbled to have received this victory. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your faith in my vision and belief in my ability to serve in this office. There are so many people that supported this effort and made this victory a possibility. Thank you to the Democratic Party leaders who stood by me and supported my candidacy, to the union leaders who came out time and time again to stand with me. Thank you to everyone who knocked on doors, put up signs, worked train stations, hosted events, texted their friends, emailed their networks, posted to social media, talked about this race and its importance, all of it is appreciated and all of it made a difference.
Thank you to my family, a race like this keeps you out and about constantly. It’s easier if you have a family that supports you and believes in your purpose so thank you.
Thank you to my team for working around the clock and making this campaign something we could all be proud of. This was a race well run.
To all of the people who voted for me, I thank you. Thank you for hearing my message and for your vote of confidence. You are the reason I won. To those who did not vote for me, I vow to work very hard through November to share my plans and vision for this office and earn your support so that we can emerge from this campaign cycle united as Democrats, as a County under the leadership of this District Attorney's Office and working toward safety through the balance of justice with compassion I’ve talked about.
To my opponents, to run a campaign of this size is not an easy endeavor. I’ve run many races and I know what it is to lose a race. I wish you luck in your future endeavors.
As we move forward toward November, let’s do so in the spirit of unity and looking for what brings us together, so that the victory in November will belong to all of us. |
