As we bring Asian American Heritage Month to a close, participating in the Westchester Asian American Committee Reception alongside Co-Chair of the NYS Asian Pacific American Task Force, Assemblywoman Grace Lee was an opportunity to engage with civic, governmental, and judicial leaders, fostering inclusivity and diversity within the Asian American community.
Additionally, I was joined by Rockland County Legislator Aney Paul, Jacob Adaraka, and representatives of the Asian American/Pacific Islander Community to commemorate contributions of the Asian American community.
Furthermore, advocating for the Armour Villa Flooding Initiative, which we secured $1.3 million to mitigate flooding in East Yonkers.
Joined Assemblyman John Lemondes and former Wrestling World Champion Gene Mills, as we recognize May 2024 as Wrestling Month in New York State.
Finally, participated in Legislative Disabilities Awareness Day in Albany. We advocated for disability rights and passing a resolution designating May 22, 2024, as New York State Assembly Legislative Disabilities Day.
I again call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza! I urge all involved parties to engage in negotiations for a lasting peace agreement, which includes the release of all hostages and prisoners. Additionally, it is imperative that the international community promptly addresses the hunger and starvation affecting the population in Gaza. From the start of this conflict, over 35,000 have died. |
