May 5-11 is National Correction Officers and Employees Appreciation Week. The men and women who serve as corrections officers undertake this demanding and often dangerous work at considerable personal sacrifice. I want to thank the many people who perform these jobs with professionalism and dependability, so that our facilities and our society are safe.
