Last Thursday Evening was the Eight Annual Dinner for Mediterranean People & Communities better known as MPAC. The Event was held at Westchester Manor in Hastings on the Hudson. John Khader is the President of MPAC.
This Event was a real testament to how MPAC is committed to working with Community, Labor and Elected Officials that serve the Community At Large and this is not about themselves at MPAC, They are of the Community, by the Community and for the Community as the old saying goes Actions Speaks louder than words. MPAC Actions for the last many years prove that they are always here for the Community always. MPAC also has a record of being there for Our Senior Citizen Population as well as Veteran's as well.
MPAC records speaks for itself. It is an Excellent Record to show the Proper Example as to what A true Community Organization should be all about in terms of working hand and hand with the Community, Like MPAC has always done and setting the right tone and the right message to the Community in this City and County.
In Attendance at the Event were the following: Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac of the 2nd District - also a Candidate for Yonkers Mayor, Anthony Merante, Councilman from the 6th District and GOP Candidate for Yonkers Mayor, Margaret Fountain Coleman Candidate for Yonkers Mayor, Ron Schutte, Candidate for Yonkers City Council 5th District, Westchester County Legislators James Nolan, Christopher Johnson and David Tubiolo and NYS Supreme Court Justices Charley Wood and Fran Connolly and many others were in attendance in support of MPAC at this event to honor Individuals who are meaningful to our Community. It was a truly stellar turnout and truly a tremendous event. Kudos to John Khader, President of MPAC and the rest of the People at MPAC for a Job well done on this event.
The Honorees at this event by MPAC were the Following: MPAC Government Awards: Westchester County Executive George Latimer and New York State Senator Shelley Mayer.
MPAC Labor Awards: Karen Pecora, Past President of CSEA Unit 9200 and Manuel Molina of 32BJ SEIU. Someone Involved in the Labor Movement for Many Years: Barry McGoey introduced and talked about the two Honorees of the Labor Awards. It was a well done and excellent speech giving by Barry McGoey at the MPAC Annual Dinner on Last Thursday Evening.
MPAC Community Service Awards: Exec. Dir of Brother to Brother - John Morrison.
MPAC Business of the Year Awards: Chestnut Markets - Sal & Jamal Brothers.
