First Turf Regulation-Sized Field to be Constructed in Northwest Yonkers.
Mayor Mike Spano will join representatives from Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation, City Engineering and students from William Boyce Thompson School Monday, May 8, at 2 PM at 1061 N Broadway (south side of school parking lot) to break ground on the City’s new soccer and lacrosse field.
The new field is the first of its kind in northwest Yonkers and the third turf regulation-sized soccer field in Yonkers. The new 70,000 sq. ft. artificial multi-use turf field will feature lighting, parking, bleachers and overlook the Hudson River with picturesque views of the Palisades. The Yonkers Parks department will permit the field’s use to Yonkers Public Schools and local boys and girls clubs.
