Proud to announce that I have successfully added to the 2023 Westchester County Joint Legislative Package four recommendations to pass in the state. The laws and recommendations that I have successfully added to the package are The Drag Racing and Speed Enforcement Act, establishing a college on engineering and applied science in the City of Yonkers, increasing foundation aid for school districts, and establishing the crime of forcible touching of correction officers and increasing penalties.
Every year the Westchester County Executive and the Westchester County Board of Legislators work on a joint package of laws and programs to recommend to the New York State delegation to pass or fund. All legislators come together and during this process, several items are eliminated from the package and we agree to pass the ones that we feel will be the most beneficial to the constituents that we represent.
Being able to successfully pass and approve these items into the package is a big accomplishment for me as it will help benefit and protect not just everyone in District 15 but all of Westchester County. I will continue to be a strong and active representative to do what is needed for all of my constituents of District 15 Yonkers, Bronxville, Eastchester, and Mount Vernon. #keepdistrict15red #LeadRight #rollinwithnolan
