The NY State Thruway Authority is about to begin a $13.9 million multimodal project along South Broadway (Route 9) in Tarrytown. The project will feature a new pedestrian-bicycle bridge over I-87/I-287, to provide a much-needed safe connection between Tarrytown and Irvington. Also included are an extension of the side path on the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge south to Lyndhurst Mansion, installation of a traffic signal at Paulding Avenue, and several other traffic and infrastructure improvements in this busy corridor. The pedestrian-bicycle bridge is expected to go up later this year, with all work scheduled for completion in two years.
