Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Minority Leader Mike Breen 5th District:CHURCH BELLS TOLL REMEMBERING ALL UKRAINIAN VICTIMS LOST THROUGH ONE YEAR OF RUSSIA'S CRUEL WAR IN UKRAINE.

 

St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church (21 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY) is leading a group of churches of all denominations throughout the tri-state area that will toll their church bells at 12pm on Friday, 24^th, 2023 for one minute to mark one year since Russia began its unprovoked and brutal attack on the country of Ukraine - causing the death of many innocent victims and the fleeing of millions of Ukrainian citizens. Ukrainians, as well as U.S. supporters of Ukraine, are asked to kneel and take a moment of silence at noon on Friday the 24th of February for all the Ukrainian victims for the one minute as the bells toll.
