Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council Meetings- February 14, 2023 by Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District.

 


Yesterday evening, February 14, 2023, the Yonkers City Council held a Stated City Council meeting. All items on the agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items. Public Hearings were also held in regard to the proposed AMS development and the surplus of city-owned property to the Yonkers Economic Development Corporation.

Stated City Council Meeting Agenda

1. General Ordinance amending General Ordinance No. 4-2000, Chapter 43 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Yonkers and accompanying zoning map to reclassify and rezone the properties located at 273-297 Glenwood Avenue, 146 Lake Avenue and 164 Lake Avenue designated on the tax map of the City of Yonkers as Block 21772, Lots 29-41, 43 & 44 (Adopted 5-0)

2. Special Ordinance – authorizing American Rescue Plan Act CMC6-HDC6 Grant Funding to expand certain existing Supportive and Nutrition Services in the amount of $415,399 and amending the City of Yonkers Grant Budget for Fiscal Year 2023. (Adopted 5-0)

3. Resolution – approving an Inter-Municipal Agreement by and between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester to accept American Rescue Plan Act CMC6-HDC6 Grant Funds for Title III-C-2 Nutrition Programs, Program Year 2021-24. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Adopted 5-0)

4. Resolution – approving five (5) Inter-Municipal Agreements by and between the City of Yonkers and each of the following: The Villages of Ardsley, Elmsford, Hastings on Hudson, Tuckahoe and Dobbs Ferry, regarding acceptance and transfer of Organic Waste. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Adopted 5-0)
 
5. Resolution of the City Council to accept the recommendation of the Landmarks Preservation Board to designate the downtown Yonkers United States Post Office as a landmark pursuant to Chapter 45 of the Code of the City of Yonkers (Adopted 5-0)

6. Resolution – setting a Public Hearing to consider a General Ordinance amending Chapter 43 or the Code of the City of Yonkers, entitled, “Zoning” with regard to Outdoor Dining. (No Fiscal Impact.) (All Councilmembers.) (Adopted 5-0)

7. Resolution - $ 15,000.00 - Francisco Flores vs. City of Yonkers (Adopted 5-0)

8.Resolution - $30,0000 - City of Yonkers vs. Darren Moran (Adopted 5-0)

9. Resolution of the Council of the City of Yonkers to recognize the significance of S.40, to establish the commission to study and develop reparations for African American descendants of slavery. (Adopted 4-1, with Merante voting no)

10. Resolution Proclaiming and Recognizing the month February 2023 as “Black History Month” throughout the City of Yonkers. (Adopted 5-0)
 
11. Resolution to declare January 21 to February 27, 2023 as “Dominican Heritage Month” in the City of Yonkers (Adopted 5-0)
 
12. Resolution Proclaiming and Recognizing February 3, 2023 as “Go Red Day” in support of Women’s Heart Health Month throughout the City of Yonkers (Adopted 5-0)

 13. Resolution Proclaiming and Recognizing February 4, 2023 as “World Cancer Day” throughout the City of Yonkers. (Adopted 5-0)
