YONKERS NY: Considering recent comments in local media, the mission of Mediterranean People and Communities (MPAC) is to work collectively with community-based organizations and individual stakeholders to hold elected officials accountable in their respective roles and responsibilities and to actively engage in the election process. We organize to ensure we have a more informed, organized, and effective constituency.
Our organization willfully supports candidates for elected offices who will work diligently to improve the quality of life for all Yonkers residents equally and responsibly. It is only possible to fund some political hopefuls. Through an interview process and careful consideration, MPAC will assist candidates we deem viable in the election process.
The support is not limited to but will include, the financial backing and grassroots campaign organizing of one (1) single candidate (per office) in a primary and/or general election representing the City of Yonkers.
We believe in democracy and look forward to partnerships with individuals who desire to serve the public by running and winning. First, however, potential candidates must understand election law, political operations, and the functions of each branch of government.
We will continue in our efforts to educate potential candidates and any individuals interested in learning about the election process and government. Together, we can change our city for the better.
