Congratulations to Yonkers Schools Superintendent Dr. Edwin Quezada, Mayor Mike Spano, and everyone involved in My Brothers Keeper's Sixth Anniversary Celebration.
Yonkers MBK addresses persistent opportunity gaps impacting boys and young men of color and seeks to ensure that all young people can reach their full potential. Founded in 2016 in conjunction with President Barack Obama's guidance, Yonkers schools have been creating dynamic and well-attended My Brothers Keeper programs, including the Each One-Reach One mentorship program, career fairs, empowerment assemblies, cross-age literacy tutoring, a Dress for Success donation closet where young job-seekers can suit up for interviews, and dozens more.
Assemblyman Sayegh and Congressman Jamaal Bowman were two of the speakers who addressed the attendees at the event.
