12/17/22 Yonkers, NY - At approximately 5:54 PM, members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the gas station at 631 Yonkers Avenue on a report of a gunpoint robbery. Three suspects allegedly assaulted the owner of a pickup truck and fled in his vehicle. Yonkers Police units located the truck and pursued the same into the Bronx, where the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed on the George Washington Bridge entrance ramp from southbound I-87. One suspect was apprehend at scene and there is currently a search taking place for the outstanding suspects; NYPD is on scene assisting with the search and investigation. The victim is a 62-year-old male out-of-state resident who suffered non-life-threatening injuries; no shots were fired. The investigation is on-going and additional information may be released as it becomes available - the above is preliminary and subject to change.
The I-87 S/B GWB ramp is presently CLOSED due to police activity - commuters are advised to avoid the area.
