YONKERS MAYOR SPANO TO HOST ANNUAL PRE-KWANZAA COMMUNITY NETWORKING EVENT.
Celebration to Highlight Women in Leadership & Business in Yonkers
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano will host his annual Pre-Kwanzaa Community Networking celebration Thursday, December 15 at 5:30PM at Yonkers City Hall (Rotunda), 40 South Broadway.
Open to the public, the event will include music, poetry and a Soul Food Feast. While honoring the seven Principles of Kwanzaa (Ngozo Saba), various women in business and leadership will share what these principles represent to them as a stakeholder in the Yonkers community.
Kwanzaa is the modern African-American holiday created in 1966 by a Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor in the department of Black Studies at California State University, to promote the values of family, community and culture.
