Yonkers Insider Opposes the Extension of Term Limits for the City of Yonkers from 3 to 4 terms, in terms of Mayor, Yonkers City Council President and Yonkers City Council. This is an issue that should have been put before the Voters via Referendum.
We must protect our Democracy from this power grab in our opinion. This is a Government of, by and for the People and that is a tenet that must be protected in our view.
I respect those who disagree with me on this issue, We can respectfully disagree. But the Bottom Line is that the Term Limits Extension can't happen and I strongly oppose it. Yonkers Insider was founded 19 Years Ago, to be the Voice of the People in Yonkers.
By opposing this Power Grab, We are staying within our tenets, when we created Yonkers Insider 19 Years ago. This in my view is about the Rule of Law and the Protection of Our Democracy in the City of Yonkers.
I have friends on the other side of this issue, who I respectfully disagree with them on Term Limits Extension and that is okay.
