WELCOME TO: "The City Of Gracious Living"
YONKERS PIC: The state's third largest city overlooks the Hudson and for years was known as ''the city of gracious living,'', some say Yonkers has seen better days, while others argue that it is moving forward.

A ROSE BY ANYOTHER NAME.... Yonkers has also been refereed to as the The Central City, The City of Hills, The City of Seven Hills, The City with Vision, The Sixth Borough, The Terrace City and the The backyard of the Bronx... #LOL...Plus a few others that we can't mention in Family Facebook group.
Personally, I think Yonkers is a great city with a bright future.
It has access to public transportation that is within 20 minutes to both Manhattan and White Plains.

Yonkers has beautiful view corridors of New York City, the fabulous Hudson River, and the breath-taking Palisades Mountains.
Yonkers is rebuilding the waterfront and looking to return to its roots when the city was tabbed, "The City of Gracious Living."
There are a few ethnic areas like McLean Avenue / Woodlawn (Irish)
McLean Avenue basically divides Yonkers from the Bronx.
And Dunwoodie (The Little Italy of Yonkers).
Southwest Yonkers home of the lovely Schlobaum and other projects that can be absolutely brutal at times, but they are being renovated.
There is also an upper middle class area called Crestwood which doesn't like to identify with Yonkers.
Though located in notoriously wealthy Westchester County, Yonkers is largely middle and lower middle class and has little in common with the rest of the county.
