Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) support and guide their parent communities on how to advocate for their child's education, understand their legal rights and navigate their school system. Today, PTAs focuses on the entire family unit, cognitive of the interconnectivity of schooling, parent/caretaker work, home life, health and community dynamics. Many families struggle with food insecurity, language limitations or mental health challenges. Yonkers PTA helps connect families with community organizations to facilitate solutions. PTA can be the gateway to family success through family engagement.
