Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Council - Majority Whip - John Rubbo 4th District: ELLA FITZGERALD ACADEMY RIBBON CUTTING.

 


On Friday, September 30, 2022, my council colleagues and I joined Mayor Spano and the Board of Education to celebrate the renaming of Scholastic Academy for Academic Excellence, formerly School 18 to Ella Fitzgerald Academy.


The Fitzgerald family lived in Yonkers in the 1920's and 1930's where Ella attended Schools 10 and 18.
