I couldn’t have said it better myself! Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay hit it right on the head with his analysis of California’s energy crisis and how New York is dangerously close to repeating the same mistakes. Policy analysts from New York State, including experts from the Empire Center for Public Policy, have issued dire warnings about some of the provisions in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which overhauls New York’s energy policy and industry. When describing the potential risks of a drastic overhaul of New York’s energy grid, Assemblyman Barclay stated, “Further, not only will our energy grid be at risk due to this dramatic overhaul, but its implementation is also going to costs billions of dollars in increased taxes, utility expenses and retrofitting. These costs will undoubtedly be passed down to residents. A more expensive, less reliable energy grid serves no one, and masquerading this bad policy around as “climate consciousness” is disingenuous at best.” Protecting our environment is very important, but we cannot risk the safety and financial futures of our residents in order to implement this policy. Don’t let New York become California!
