FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The 11th Annual Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge Italian Feast & Carnival to Take Place in Tappan, September 8-11, 2022; Four Day Festival offers something for every Member of the Family!
(Rockland, September 2, 2022) – After an unexpected two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Blauvelt Sons of Italy, Rockland Lodge is back and bigger and better than ever to host their 11th Annual Italian Feast and Carnival at the Tappan Masonic Park Fair Grounds September 8th through the 11th. The widely popular and much anticipated event draws thousands of people from around the tri-state area during the spectacular four-day celebration of all things Italian and has been recognized as the biggest multi-day cultural event in Rockland and Westchester Counties. Many have come to refer to it as “An Italian Themed County Fair”. Parking is free, and admission is only $5.00 for adults and free for kids under 10.
“This is a one of a kind feast that you just won’t want to miss. It’s not a block party, it’s not a street fair, it’s a whole village of festivity themed with a slice of Italian culture unlike any other Feast you’ve ever been to. We are thrilled that the local community as well as visitors from afar have embraced our annual event in the way that they have” - says William Barbera, current President of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy.
FOOD, RIDES, GAMES and SHOPPING
The Feast features an amazing array of authentic Italian food, everything from sausage and peppers to brick oven pizza made right on site, to a huge variety of pasta dishes. Italian desserts and pastries are always available including zeppoles, cannoli’s and sfogliatella, Italian ices and ice cream. Beer and wine are available each day.
The Feast also offers a large and plentiful separate area with rides and carnival games for all ages. Carnival bracelets which offer a discount will be available on Thursday. For adults over 21, this Feast features an indoor casino with tables for black jack and poker as well as wheels of chance. There will be a Grand Prize 50/50 raffle drawing at 9pm on Sunday Night. In addition, numerous vendors and Artisans will be on site selling items such as jewelry, home goods, hand-made artwork, and clothing including Italian culture themed items such as T-shirts and sweatshirts, hats and more.
NATIONAL AND LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT
The four-day Festival is a showcase of free live entertainment.
The Celebrity Emcee for the 4-day festival who also serves as Entertainment Director will be local actor/director Paul Borghese for the 11th year in a row. Paul has appeared in movies and TV shows such as Law & Order: SVU, HBO’s 61* as Yogi Berra, The Family and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman among many others. In addition, Paul has directed ‘Back in the Day’ starring Alec Baldwin and ‘Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn’ (HBO MAX), among other feature films, and along with John Turturro Co-produced ‘BEYOND WISEGUYS; Italian Americans and the Movies’. He is also a long-time member of the Blauvelt Sons of Italy’s Rockland Lodge 2176.

Other Celebrities will also be attending and making appearances at the feast and some will be presented with OSIA (Order Sons of Italy in America) Awards of the Arts for their accomplishments as Italian American actors, writers, performers, etc. Previous attendee recipients include but aren’t limited to Armand Assante, Danny Aiello, Vincent Pastore, Joe Causi, Dominic Chianese, Vinny Vella, local actors Michael Rispoli and Larry Romano and Italian American writer Richard Vetere. This year Special Honoree Italian American Achievement Awards will be presented to Actress/Artist Kathrine Narducci, (A Bronx Tale, The Irishman, HBO’s Euphoria, Godfather of Harlem, The Sopranos) and Lauren Mascitti, (American Idol Star, Country Singer/Songwriter/
FEAST HOURS
Hours for the festival are Thursday 5pm – 11pm, Friday 5pm – midnight, Saturday Noon – midnight and Sunday will begin with an outdoor mass at 10:30am and the Festival will be open from noon until 9pm. The festival takes place at Masonic Park located at 89 Western Highway in Tappan, New York.

The Blauvelt Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge #2176, Order of The Sons of Italy in America, was established in 1966 with the goal of enhancing the image of people of Italian descent and has grown into one of the most active organizations in Rockland County and one of the biggest Sons of Italy lodges in the State of New York. The group, with members from mostly Rockland and Bergen Counties, donates funds to a variety of non-profits and charities from the proceeds of the Italian Feast and provides scholarships to students throughout the year.
