The New York Assembly wasted no time in moving on Gun Safety Legislation, and further protecting a Woman’s Right to Choose.
At a Special Session of the State Legislature last week, I supported legislation that restricts carrying a concealed weapon in a number of sensitive locations such as schools, government buildings and establishments that serve alcohol.
I also voted to add to our State Constitution an Equality Amendment protecting citizens from discrimination based on a person’s race, color, creed or religion, to bar intentional government discrimination based on a person’s ethnicity, national origin, age, disability or sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes and reproductive health care and autonomy.
