Yesterday evening, June 21, 2022, the Yonkers City Council held an Environmental Policy & Protection Committee Meeting, a Real Estate Committee meeting and a Rules Committee Meeting. All items on all agendas appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Environmental Policy & Protection Committee Meeting 1.   Local Law amending Chapter 58 of the Code of the City of Yonkers, entitled “Housing and Building Maintenance Code” in regard to indoor asthma allergen hazards in multiple dwellings (Kept in committee for further discussion)   2.   Resolution of the City Council of Yonkers supporting energy choice and reducing energy costs for Yonkers residents and all New Yorkers by urging the New York State Senate and Assembly to oppose Senate bill S-6843a, S-8198 and Assembly bill A-8431, A-9329 that would reduce energy choices and increase energy costs in all of New York State by completely eliminating the use of safe clean natural gas for home heating and cooking. (Pulled from agenda) Real Estate Committee Agenda 1.Resolution by the City Council of Yonkers urging the Yonkers Department of Housing and Buildings to provide an online registry of available affordable rental housing units. (Moved to Rules Agenda of 6/21/22 with friendly amendment - Office of Constituent Services to provide online registry)   2.Local Law – Repealing and Replacing Article XV of Chapter 43 entitled “Affordable Housing” for the City of Yonkers (Kept in committee for further discussion)   3.A special ordinance amending the budget for the City of Yonkers for the 2021/2022 fiscal year in relation to transferring funds to and from various accounts for the purpose of: 1) down payment on purchase of Park Land (Moved to Rules Agenda of 6/21/22)   4.A special ordinance authorizing and directing the acquisition of the following properties required in connection with the future dedication of Parkland (Moved to Rules Agenda of 6/21/22) Rules Committee Agenda Items for Consideration by Council       Old Business   1.Local Law authorizing the Sale of City-Owned Property at 66 Pier Street to the City of Yonkers Industrial Development Agency for the Development of Housing, Open Space,and Public Parking Improvements.
