The City of Yonkers kicked off Juneteenth weekend with a Pan-African flag raising ceremony at City Hall on Friday, June 17th, organized by the Yonkers African American Heritage Committee. They did a great job organizing a weekend full of fun, educational, and cultural events at Trevor Park for June 18th and June 19th. I was happy to stop by and support the Yonkers Guardians Association and the Vulcans Society during their Father's Day softball game, and I also stopped by the Educational Symposium and Youth Day event, also organized by YAAHC.
