The 4th of July, one of the most celebrated summer holidays in the United States, is just around the corner. Its celebration comes with many barbecues, firework shows, and family reunions that bring people together from all over the nation. Here are some ways that you can make sure your party is sustainable while still enjoying the holiday to its fullest!
On June 13, NYC’s budget for the fiscal year of 2023 was voted on and passed 2 weeks ahead of schedule. There are a number of key takeaways from the budget regarding implications on the parks, transportation, sanitation, building energy, and emissions sectors – all of which are important to protecting the environment of NYC and the climate at large.
Early Voting for the June Primary ends this Sunday. The June primary election is for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Assembly, Judges, & Party Positions. Early Voting is available June 26 and Primary Day is June 28. To find where to vote early, click here!
Remember: there is also an August Primary for Congress and the state Senate, including Early Voting for August 13-21 and in-person voting on August 23rd!

Bethlehem makes historic farmland purchase for preservation
The Town Board moved forward last week with purchasing hundreds of acres of farmland for agricultural protection purposes, one of the largest local municipal farmland protection actions ever done in the Hudson Valley.
The board unanimously approved the purchase of nine parcels of farmland that total over 300 acres, stretching from the west side of the state Thruway and past Route 9W.
DOE Joins New Federal-state Partnership to Grow Domestic Offshore Wind Supply Chain
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced it will lead in the development of a comprehensive offshore wind supply chain roadmap as part of its participation in the new White House-led Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership.
The first of its kind forum between 11 East Coast Governors and Administration officials will enable collaboration to build a strong, U.S.-based supply chain for offshore wind, grow a skilled U.S. workforce, and accelerate work to address important regional matters.
