Yonkers Insider: Yonkers City Councilwoman Corazon Pineda Issac 2nd District: Yonkers City Council Meeting- May 24, 2022.

 


This evening, May 24, 2022, the Yonkers City Council held a Stated Council Meeting, in addition to previously scheduled budget hearings. All items on the City Council Stated Meeting agenda appear below, as well as the decisions taken by the City Council in regard to these items.

Old Business

1. Resolution approving the sale and designation of St. Clair Development, LLC as qualified and eligible sponsor for the redevelopment of certain property within the Riverview Urban Renewal area owned by the Yonkers Community Development Agency known as 32 Main Street, 1 Riverdale Avenue and 3 Riverdale Avenue (Adopted 7-0)

New Business

2. Special ordinance authorizing and amending the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (SRAEP) grant from the Westchester County Youth Bureau in the amount of $30,334.00 and amending the COY grant budget for FY 2021/22 (Adopted 7-0)

3. Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an amended IMA with Westchester County for sexual risk avoidance education program (Adopted 7-0)

4. Resolution urging the and the Administration to cooperate with the NYS DEC and any other available resources in order to develop and implement a comprehensive coyote management plan in the COY (Adopted 7-0)

5. Resolution to support adoption of the proposed NY-NY Watershed Protection Act: H.R 4677 and its signature into law (Adopted 7-0)

6. Resolution declaring the month of May 2022 “ALS Awareness Month” (Adopted 7-0)

7. Resolution proclaiming and recognizing May 25, 2022 as “Jordanian Independence Day” throughout the COY (Adopted 7-0)

8. Resolution observing National Police Week and declaring the week of May 15th “Yonkers Police Week” in the COY (Adopted 7-0)

9.(Addendum) Resolution approving an IMDA in support of a proposed affordable housing development located at 23 Mulberry (Adopted 6-0, with Council President Lakisha Collins-Bellamy abstaining)
