On Monday, May 16, 2022, Mayor Spano kicked-off National Police Week in front of Unity Fountain at City Hall.
National Police Week is celebrated May 15 through May 25, 2022, to honor the men and women who risk their lives every day in the line of duty. It is also a time for police officers to honor their fallen colleagues, make sure those surviving them are supported, as well as to remember their commitment to keeping us safe.
During the kick-off, Mayor Spano took the opportunity to swear in the new Yonkers Police Commissioner Chris Sapienza.
Congratulations Commissioner!!
Yonkers City Council Majority Whip John Rubbo 4th District.
