On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, 48 years after his death, the intersection of Nepperhan Avenue and Odell Avenue was renamed "Yonkers Police Officer Harold Woods Way".Policer Officer Woods was shot and killed after walking in on a robbery in progress back in September 1974 at the A & P Supermarket on Nepperhan Avenue.
The street remaining took place during National Police Week. During the ceremony, both Westchester County and the City of Yonkers recognized May 17 as Harold Woods Day.
