The Yonkers Police Department's 2nd Precinct and Community Affairs Division spent some time with the children at Yonker PS 17, on Midland Avenue. This program is a great way for the children to interact and build a positive first impression with law enforcement officers. They get a chance to sit down and talk to the officers as regular people. The hope of programs like this is that these first impressions will develop into future relationships and even maybe some of them joining the police force in the future.
