My special thanks to State Senator Shelley Mayer who joined me once again for a special joint presentation on the 2022-23 New York State Budget. The in-person and online Town Hall Meeting covered important funding programs approved in the budget that will directly help Yonkers and New York State residents. Which includes a six month Gas Tax Cut of 16 cents per gallon starting in June, School Property Tax Rebate Checks in the Fall, Reductions to New York State Income Tax Rates, and extending Child Care Assistance to many more residents.
The questions from the audience covered a number of topics including the Assembly vote on 3 full scale casino licenses, and the likelihood that Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts will be able to acquire one of them, which will help expand our economy with good paying jobs and development.
I thank all local residents who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend and participate in our Town Hall Meeting to learn about our state's budgetary process, our positive fiscal outlook, as well as how their input is valuable in determining what policies are enacted.
